BEES

What do we know about bees?

Bees live in a hive and make honey.

Bees have three parts to their bodies:

'Morphology of a female honey bee.'

The wings and the legs are both attached to the thorax,

But this is true with all insects.

The queen bee is the only female in the hive that is allowed to reproduce.

All of the worker bees, or the bees that collect pollen,

Are female.  All the drone bees are male.

Did you know?

Bees help pollinate flowers when they are collecting nectar to make honey.

Many bees are not aggressive and do not sting.

Bees only sting you when they feel threatened.

There are 20,000 known species of bees!
