LearningExpress Library

How would you do on a 4th-grade algebra test? Find out through a new service on the Hancock County Public Library's website called LearningExpress Library.

Current students--and people who have been out of school for awhile--can see how they do in the fundamental skills sections for grades 4-12, which include state-based assessment exams.

The software also allows visitors to take practice tests for the GED; college entrance exams; firefighter, police officer, EMT, paramedic, postal worker, and ASVAB civil service exams; nursing, healthcare, real estate and cosmetology licensing tests; and even preps for U.S. Citizenship.

LearningExpress analyzes the test results and pinpoints what to study in its free, self‑paced courses. Users get immediate scores and explanations for answers.

The printed manuals that library visitors are used to seeing have been stored in LearningExpress as E-books, never checked out so always available on the Internet.

To get started, visit www.learningexpresslibrary.com, and create a new user using a valid Hancock County Public Library card number as your username, either at home or on the library's public computers.  Those who have a laptop can connect to the library's free Internet service inside either building.

Choose from a comprehensive collection of test preparation tools, skill-building materials, and career resources that include advanced placement, civil service, EMS, graduate school entrance exams, skills improvement with Spanish instructions, teaching, technical and career college skills, and TOEFL preparation.
