Visit and Tour Type Definitions:

Tour of Library (all ages)

A library staff member will show you around the library, touching upon the locations of different collections and services. Depending on the age group, some areas that are more relevant to the age group present will go further in-depth.

Tours that include behind-the-scenes must be expressly requested in the “More Information” Field.

Storytime (recommended for ages 0-6)

A Youth Services Staff member will conduct a storytime just for your group. They will tailor the storytime to fit with the average age of the group. This will include at least one book reading, some rhymes or songs, and an activity.

Library Skills (recommended for ages 4 and up)

A library staff member will give an overview of what kinds of materials the library offers, how the library is organized, what call numbers mean, and the different parts of the catalog. Then they will show your group how to find materials in the library independently.

Online Resources Presentation (recommended for upper elementary and up)

A librarian will show your group all the online resources that the library provides to you with your library card. This presentation will be tailored to the average age of the group.
